A24 has again bumped the release of David Robert Mitchell’s noir “Under the Silver Lake,” starring Andrew Garfield.
The movie has shifted from its release on Dec. 7, 2018 to April 19, 2019, an individual with knowledge of the shift told TheWrap. A24 had no further comment.
This is the second date change A24 has given for Mitchell’s film, as it was originally slated to open earlier this summer after premiering at Cannes.

The eccentric neo-noir, which was met with split reactions from critics at Cannes, stars Andrew Garfield, Riley Keough and Topher Grace in a Los Angeles set story in which Garfield’s character meets and tries to track down a mysterious and alluring woman swimming in his apartment complex’s pool, only for her to go missing the next day.
The indie is Mitchell’s second movie, his follow-up to the horror darling “It Follows.” The nearly two-and-a-half hour blend of comedy, crime and drama echoes detective capers such as Robert Altman’s “The Long Goodbye” and David Lynch’s surreal LA drama “Mulholland Drive.”
Chris Bender, Michael De Luca, Adele Romanski and Jake Weiner produced.
“Under the Silver Lake” will play at the AFI Film Festival on Nov. 12, with Mitchell expected to attend the screening.
